What Contenu Does

Contenu is a content capture and creation tool. The Chrome extension saves the URL, page title, meta description, and an optional screenshot of the current tab to your Contenu account.

Account Data

When you create an account, we store your email address for authentication purposes. We use magic link (passwordless) authentication via Supabase Auth.

Data Collected

• Your email address (for authentication)
• Page URL and title of the active tab when you click "Save"
• Meta description of the page
• Any text you have selected on the page
• A screenshot of the visible tab (if you opt in)
• Notes you type in the extension

How Data Is Used

Your data is used to display your saved items in the dashboard and to generate AI-powered content drafts. No data is shared with third parties, sold, or used for advertising. Each user can only access their own data.

Data Storage

Account and content data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL). Screenshots are stored in Supabase Storage. Your authentication tokens are stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your device.

Third-Party Services

• Supabase - database, authentication, and file storage
• Jina Reader - used server-side to scrape page content for draft generation. Only the URL is sent.
• OpenAI API - used server-side to generate content drafts from scraped text.

Permissions

• activeTab - to read the current tab's URL, title, and capture a screenshot when you click the extension
• storage - to save your authentication tokens locally
• scripting - to read the page's meta description and selected text

Data Deletion

You can delete individual saved items and drafts from the dashboard. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.
